What insurance plans does At Peace Home Care accept?

We accept Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance plans.

What is the process for starting services with At Peace Home Care?

To start services with us, you can call us at (800) 359-6041 x 801 and we will schedule an initial assessment with one of our care coordinators.

Do you have Medicaid to qualify?

YES. This state-sponsored program is ONLY for Medicaid recipients.

Am I eligible for this program? if you have Medicaid, live in Missouri, need help with day-to-day activities, able to direct your own care/services? Are 18 years or older?

You are likely eligible. Medicare is NOT enough only cover short term health coverage.

What is the difference between Medicaid and Medicare?

Medicaid is a state and federal program that provides health coverage if you have a low income. Medicare is a federal program that provides health coverage if you are 65 and older or have a disability, no matter your income.

What if I have Medicaid spenddown- Am I eligible?

If you pay your Medicaid spenddown each month, you can join the program. We offer information about Community Options programs to help with spenddowns.

What's the difference between a CDS caregiver and agency caregiver??

A CDS caregiver is hired by the patient themselves - and they are usually a family member or friend of the patient.

An agency caregiver is hired and employed by a home care agency.

At Peaceful Home Healthcare, we can help you hire an aide through the CDS program.

At Amity At Home, we will hire an aide to provide home care services.

Are there any limitations on the types of illnesses that are

No. If a person has Medicaid and needs care, they can qualify.

What does it take to qualify as a person who need care?

If you need help with activities of daily living - like shopping, cleaning, bathing, and grooming. We can help you become eligible. A nurse from your plan will visit you at home to determine (1) if eligible and (2) how many hours of care you can get.

My father is on SSI - can he qualify?

Yes - if he has Medicaid and needs care.

My sister has special needs - can she qualify?

Yes, if your sister is physically disabled but can still manage her own care, she may be eligible.

How much will I get paid?

Our caregivers get paid up to $15 per hour based on experience and credentials.

How many hours will i be able to work?

You can be allowed a up to 40 hours per week. The exact number of hours will depend on:

Nurse's assessment of the patient
Patient hour preference. The patient can choose to hire you for all the approved hours or a portion of the approved hours
State issued care plan

Is there a minimum number of hours I have to work?

Yes, but your hours must be split. For example, if Dad qualifies for 15 hours per week and Mom qualifies for 25 hours per week. You can work for 40 hours each week.

Does A Peaceful Home Healthcare CDS pay for overtime?

Most times the CDS program care plan does not allow overtime.

Can I care for more than one patient at a time?

Yes, but your hours must be split. For example, if Dad qualifies for 15 hours per week and Mom qualifies for 25 hours per week. You can work up to 40 hours each week.

Can I get paid to take care of my spouse?

No, not if you are legally married to your spouse. Call us to see your options 314-329-7744.

Are the hours set? Can I have a flexible work schedule?

Hours are flexible, so your loved one can coordinate the times with you to make the schedule work for you both.

How will you track my hours?

We have a unique clock in and out system that is based on State of Missouri EVV requirements. No paperwork

I am my mother's POA (power of attorney) and health proxy. Can I be her caregiver?

No, if you are your mother's POA, you cannot be her caregiver through CDS. We can help you explore other options. Call us today 314-329-7744.
